Day Care Center for the Elderly
Rasarit was established in 2003 and has since continuously provided services to disadvantaged senior citizens of Straseni and nearby villages.
According to each person’s needs Rasarit provides a public kitchen with hot vegetarian meals, laundry services and bathing facilities. The center also offers social and educational activities. Approximately 40 elderly come to the center on a daily basis to spend time together. In two common rooms they can relax watching television, reading newspapers, getting involved in indoor games, handicrafts and music, as well as attend sports and physical exercises. Also, on a regular basis Rasarit provides massage therapy, counseling, entertainment programs and performances, excursions, etc. They can also take part in various clubs such as the English language club, the women’s club, the dance club and choir.
The center assists over 270 elderly a year, and the number of beneficiaries served has increased steadily over the past years.
